Quantum Criticality Symposium

Scope:
This symposium will provide a forum for informal discussions on quantum criticality. It will highlight heavy fermions, which serve as a prototype system for the study of quantum criticality and emergent phases and have provided the setting for ideas that go beyond the traditional Landau framework. It will also cover a broad range of other correlated electron materials in which quantum criticality is likely important, such as the iron-based superconductors and the recently advanced chromium arsenides. Pertinent theoretical studies will be an important and integral part of the discussions.

Location: Rice University

Dates: March 26 (full day) and 27 (tentatively ending mid afternoon)
